Hello. I'm juice feasting right now, so I won't be trying this soon! But I was wondering if anyone had a good seaweed salad recipe they would like to share. I REALLY used to love that seaweed salad you could get at japanese restaurants with sushi, but I haven't been able to make a good recipe that's similar. Does anyone have a favorite?
Hi Sarah, I love this seaweed too. I can't make it myself but i like to soak fine dried arame in fltered water in the fridge and then add it to a good leafy salad with finely chopped fennel and salad onions and then make a dressing with an asian twist so lime juice, salt, light agava nectar and either apple cider binegar or rice mirrin (not sure rice mittin is raw though). It tastes great.

There's a really good one on goneraw.com: I changed the recipe a little, added some different kinds of dried ( rehydrated ) seaweed, instead of the fresh, & it came out great!
Ooooh me too...I crave that seaweed salad more than I crave sushi and I have tried to make it myself (you know, minus all the icky stuff) but I can't get that very specific flavor. Mine have been good, just not that. I am curious to see if someone has a good recipe for this!
My favorite seaweed salad is to take a mix of salted seaweed, I don't know what its called and the bag is in japanese anyway its a mix you soak and rinse them and then I squeeze it dry with my hands I dress it with some oil, flaxseed or olive oil, a few squeezes from a lemon, some cayenne pepper and 1/4 teaspoon of powdered spirulina. I mix it well and eat it slowly.... usually I use just a handful of the seaweed mix. This is soo good. :) Dea
my magic bullet burnt out, it was good for travelling while I had it though. Can you get a second hand blender? The cheaper ones I have used don't chop up the greens as well. Try to get something with a higher wattage, like 1000watt.
Just being curious again :P ...
