Give it to me Raw

I'm sure a lot of you have read Green for Life by Victria Boutenko, and if you haven' you REALLY need to.
Having said that, what is your favourite green smoothie recipe?
Right now I'm stuck on-
1 bunch of spinach
2 bosc pears
fill with water
Blend in a vitamix or other equally amazing blender
It makes usually about 40 oz, and then I'm just, like, not hungry again until fourish. I eat SO LIGHTLY it is amazing.

The Green Smoothie World is your oyster Lucy! (Grin) There are so many variations to try...just experiment with different ingredients such as using different greens (romaine hearts, kale, celery, parsley) use cucumbers, bananas, apples, kiwi, flax seeds, avocado, add a zip of lemon or lime...make sure you put enough crushed ice in your mix so it keeps it cold as water doesn't always give it enuf chill it seems....) the list goes on..obviously you are not mixing all these ingredients in one smoothie, but variations of what you enjoy. Once you start it is hard to stop though as they give a tremendous surge of energy.

I've been having at least one green smoothie a day for over a month now and it's amazing. I look forward to getting out of bed in the morning JUST to make that smoothie! :) I also have a 30 days challenge going on at my blog, Happy Foody and a green smoothie Yahoo group with quite a few people/ideas. Come join us! My favorites so far:

Apple/Kale/Frozen Banana/Water

Strawberry/Frozen Banana/Spinach/Water

Pear/Parsley/Mint/Ice/Water

Peeled Orange/Frozen Banana/Kale/Water

Yum yum!

I haven't had a lot of success with my green smoothies yet - however the strawberry/banana/spinach sounds like a winner - tommorow"s breakfast - thanks!

Yeah, never much thought at the time though as it was late at night and had been about 40 degrees here. Oh well. I am so familiar with the way the Engish and Irish talk that I just assume everyone is the same with the kiwis and Aussies.

RGG, the belly-centered symptoms that most people (mistakenly) call hunger usually pass within 2-3 days. Your body is not hungry while fasting because it gets all of its needs met from its own reserves.

Another way to think about this is that "frugivore" is a word used by scientists to describe any animal that eats a fruit-based diet (including virtually all of the anthropoid primates). "Frugivore" has an accepted scientific definition. "Fruitari...

Hi Priyam and RGG, Even blending them is a big step down in quality from eating them whole, for a number of reasons. The pre-chewing argument -- often heard -- doesn't really carry much weight as the benefit of chewing in the mouth is that any re...

Try this. I found out about it when I worked at Jubbs longevity. There is absolutely no aftertaste and a bottle lasts forever. I've been using it for years. Lucky Vitamin has amazing prices on many things too. http://www.luckyvitamin.com/item/ite...
