Vita-mix or Blend-Tec? I dont know which to choose. I have seen that Blend-Tec has 3 hp, has a wider mouth, fits under the cabinets on your counter, and has a smoothie button. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Jack:)
I love my Vita Mix! Mine does fit under the counter well. I used it for alot before learning about going raw. Now, I use it even more! The only thing I can say is; If you watch the many videios on Youtube.com... you will noitce alot of Vita Mix machines out there:) I havent seen very many Blendtecs. ( on the side ..my opinion I think would still remain staying with the Vita Mix.)
I think the Vita Mix, Excalibur dehydrator, and Champion Juicer seem to be the most favored:)
Wishing you the greatest!

I have a blendtec and I love it! Mostly I chose the blendtec because I could get a new one (only used twice) online for only $289 with shipping. Here is a link to where I got mine on ebay. They have lots of them. They're demos so they have really only been slightly used for a day or two. I believe the white one is going for $279 with shipping (that's the "buy it now price") and the black one was $10 more. But I don't see those any more.
I just got a refurbished Vita Mix... I killed my old blender. I wasn't sure about the $500 for a new one, but We Like It Raw featured an article about the used, factory certified refurbished ones being half off. THAT WAS MY CHANCE! The warranty for it is one year vs. the 7 years for a new one... I decided to take a chance. So I think it's wonderful and such a deal.....
I have both & I'd say the Vitamix is the better choice by far. The Blendtec seems all high tech, but it's not worth it, mine had issues after a year & a part had to be replaced. I regret ever getting it. I also had to add more water to smoothies to get it to blend at all, & it doesn't chop anything very well. The Vitamix was a refurbished one & it's still going strong 7 years later & it's used every day. You can easily blend smoothies with it without adding a lot of water & can make smaller amounts too if wanted, & it will chop veggies too. It's much simpler to use, doesn't break down, & is more effective. :)
We have a lot of different types of blenders here in the GreenChefs kitchen and my favorite is the Blendtec. But if your looking for something that is more in the $200 range, the Breville is really nicely made and powerful.

So Im reading the descriptions listed for both these blenders... do they also perform as juicers??? I want to make sure I understand it before I get to excited to be replacing three appliances with just one!! lol...
In our house of 4-6 raw foodies we have and use both. We use the Vitamix more because it's so versatile. The Blend-Tec is great for liquefying even the most dense green smoothie. So it really depends on what you plan on using it for. Are you going to do a lot of recipes or are you going to mostly do smoothies...

I'm glad you disagree with my definition of spirituality. I was thinking about that in regards to this thread actually. Most things you can analyze and chop up logically but individual preferences not so easy. I think what I was trying to mean by ...
Hi April,
We get a fair number of applicants, and it varies all the time.
It is absolutely NOT required that someone be raw for any length of time. What is required is that someone be truly open and coachable.
This is paradigm-busting stuff bas...
