After going raw for a little bit I noticed that my feet and hands were getting colder than they had before. When I would stand up I would feel light headed and my short term memory was really bad. I started eating cooked food again and this all went away but I didn't want to sacrifice the benefits of raw food so now, I am raw again. Does anyone know what foods contain high enough levels of B-12 so that this deficiency doesn't continue?

No but I have a teaspoon of spirulina everyday and on the bottle it says it has b-12 but I'm not sure. I also heard that if I started eating eggs it would help but then again I don't want to eat anything cooked. I looked into some B-12 supplements a while back, I guess I should have bought some :(
Is it a good idea to take supplements when you're eating raw? I never did when I was just a vegetarian, but since I'm fairly new to raw long term, I thought I should ask this question. I guess since I'm not having any weird symptoms, I'm ok. I'm sort of one of those types of people who doesn't like to do a lot of additives that aren't just food in it's natural state. But I'm so open to suggestions!
I would suggest to you to take 1/8 of cayenne pepper that will stimulate the circulation in your hands and feet. I would suggest to you that you read "Cures From The Last Chance Clinic". it will tell you the health benefits of incorporating cayenne pepper in your diet. Also body brushing will help to stimulate your circulation too.

Hi. I found this article on the internet by googling. You can also find article on B12 from his website.
I don't know about Picograms vs micrograms, so I wouldn't have caught that. It makes me wonder too if he wrote it.
Sorry I referenced an article that may be skewed. However, from everything I know he's written and everything I've heard from him in person, I will just ignore this article and continue to supplement b12 anyway.
I totally agree that B12 supplementation is critical. It's just frustrating, when trying to defend raw foodism to outsiders, when even the leaders of the movement make such obvious mistakes in their writings.

I am definitely going to stick with raw the positives out weighthe negatives for sure. I had only been raw for a few months (3 1/2) when i noticed the cold hands and feet and light headed feelings especially when I would stand up after sitting. I thought this was odd and my doctor suggested that I had a possible B-12 definiciency .. but I don't always trust doctors too much and usually go on what I feel. I had my fingers crossed that this would hopefully just be detox .. I hope it goes away soon! Thanks for the advice!

I thought maybe you were going to suggest a test to see. Isn't there a test you can have done to see if you are actually low, before worrrying about it? I wondered that too when I first read the question, how she knew she was low.
hi honey,
we did an experiment in school with ear candles. we set up one with a real person, followed directions perfectly...set up another the same way but instead of putting it in someones ear we just held it against a pillow...both candles had...
they gossip about which teams are going to trade or sign star players. Most of it is bullshit. They just create rumors to sell papers / get hits. Still I eat it up.
Hi agree with Erin, everything she suggested is very similiar to wha ti have found.
I am also seeing an accupuncturist and realize that we actually need cooked foods in our diet to support the spleen.
Healing with whole foods is a great start..
I've been doing some "research" on ear candling, and have found three different reports:
1) it's great, feels great, and really helps to clear out the sinuses/lymphs
2) it feels great, but that's just the warmth and it doesn't actually do anything...
Because we believe we are dying. Fact is there is no such thing as "natural causes" or "dying of old age" death is always the result of sickness and disease, of which, all are preventable.
I choose to not buy into the 'I am dying' thing, it's the...
