Give it to me Raw

I'm a big fan of Kombucha. I would love it if some Kombucha drinkers and makers could share their best batch recipes with us. Such as, kind of tea they used, if they used the controversial sugar, organic sugar, or perhaps even honey (a big no, no apparently). Some people even add other natural flavouring.

For my batch I like to use organic white tea with an organic or raw sugar. This works very well for me, but I think it would be fun to experiment with other "flavours" a bit.

I brew mine for 2 weeks or more. I like it more tart. I keep one brewing jar always and keep x-tra scoby's in it. So when I make a new batch I have a really strong, potent starter. I make a new batch of tea use 1 c. from constant fermenting jar then replace new tea as needed to constant fermening jar. It is super strong. I have never had one go bad or get mold. When I bottle, I will put new batch in old synergy bottles and add whatever flavors. I add gogi's and let them set for a day the color turns a lovely red, they soften and plump. I will sometimes throw them in before I drink and they stay chewy, and every drink has a sweet chewy surprise. When I add strawberry I just cut some up and put them in let set for a day or so and yummm. I have let a jar with strawberry go too long and for some reason I was feeling very tipsy. I was getting a little drunk in the AM. Well it happend twice. The first time I thought it was strange, second time I knew something was happening. That was when I was making more then I could consume, within a few days. With practice I figured out a system that works for me.........Happy Brewing

Both, I like it plain but I also like to change things up. Then adding the gogi's before you drink or soaking the over night is 2 completely different tastes, and when you chew on them they are also fun.

No problem, Lu lu. I'm definitely not the universe and I didn't hear you ;0) LOL But I'm glad this topic came up timely. You're sweet! Oh my goodness! I don't think I could brew mine for 18 days! That's just a bit too much. You're amazing.

I haven't actually started brewing my own yet. But i'm wondering if anyone has tried using tea's of entheogens. Such as kava or damidagga? i want to make mine with some really potent damidagga, but i haven't heard of anyone else doing that, so i'm worried that maybe it will damage the culture or something. or maybe i'm the only one who wants damidagga's effects while drinking an awesome beverage. Anyway, let me know if you've tried any other teas that black, or green.

I never tried kombucha before. I should try it, shouldn't I?

Also, I'm on anti-depressants, birth control pills, and I'm prone to yeast infections/urinary tract infections. Will there be any issues?

OK, I guess to me getting rid of anger and envy and fear in ones self before being able to externalize it on a corporate scale just seems common sense as opposed to religious. Is that really religious? Or is it just that he is a Yogi addressing th...

Rome was AWESOME, another fantastic HBO series. True Blood is also pretty cool, but I read the books so it's bittersweet for me. Did anyone else catch Carnivale? That was really well done as well.

For a sore throat I mix salt into warm water and gargle with it. Then a warm drink with honey (nut milk, tea). Be well.

Me walking between China and Dragon as I get ready to turn them out into a big pasture. They're my buds, they stay real close to me, one on each side, whenever I got out to where they are. It is very sweet! :)

It sounds like you are not eating enough fruit. If you eat more sweet fruit, your desire for candy and other processed foods that are sweet will go away.
