Give it to me Raw

I will be honest with you and tell you that I indulge into whatever I feel like about 1 "meal" a week out of 21 meals.

I'm not perfect, but I would like to know what your take on this is. The whole point of it is to stay raw as a lifestyle, eating something different once in a while always reminds me of how bad I feel when I eat cooked foods, and keeps me on the right track.
I understand that we all have different reasons to go raw, but are we all 100% flawless, if you are , good for you, But I wanna hear about the ones who are humans :) and what it is that you indulge in... Go wild I won't tell anyone.
1 rule, it can't be raw hihihiheheheheheh (evil laugh)

Good. Because today I binged on HOT wheat-free vegan pancakes and Rice Dream bars.

I think your appoach is best -- I think its mentally damaging to deprive ourselves of whims and small desires, and if we indulge and then regret it, we think twice next time.

Conversely, if we indulge and end up fine, we feel liberated and in control and that's always a very very good thing.

Peanuts & peanut butter are some things I really love. I don't feel bad about them at all, esp if I roast them myslef, or make peanut butter fresh from the machine at the store. Also my morning caffeine, I will not give up coffee and I'll have energy drinks every now & then too.

thats why you need supplements

ahhh whatta genius. Peanuts & caffeine are keeping me from getting elements that aren't naturally found in food, and B vitamins that aren't found in veg. Smartie pants!!

I was talking to the owner of the Raw Café in Reno about this yesterday. We were talking about the fact that many people are resistant to the idea of raw for one reason or another, and then we ended up discussing how "raw" most people get. She made a point of saying "We're not all perfect, nor should we be be-- I think that we're human, and sometimes it's okay to indulge -- we are a small percentage of people that GET IT-- we've found the way of living a happy, healthy, wholesome, positive life. If a small percent of that time, we eat things outside of that lifestyle-it's OKAY."

I thought this was a great way of looking at it. We ARE human. Not only that, but I feel so blessed to have discovered this beautiful and healthy lifestyle and I don't think there's anything wrong with indulging on old favorite meals every so often.

Before I went raw, I was 80% vegetarian, 20% carnivore.

My personal indulgence is cheese. I am such a cheese fanatic! I've tried raw cheese but there is just something about a good aged cheddar or parmesan block that tempt my tastebuds.

Also, my old favorite vegetarian place has a meal called the Slab Parmigiana: Slab of tofu, homemade tomato pasta sauce, spinach, roasted garlic, melted mozzarella cheese, and a piece of homemade garlic bread. About once every couple months I can't help but go and get this with one of their signature blueberry smoothies. So delish!

You are talking about the Pnumatic Diner! That place rocks! I don't live in Reno anymore but I used to go there all the time. I still do when I'm in town visiting.

They used to have Stupid Juice. It was carrot juice with beet, garlic and serrano pepper. I loved it!

good for you! the title of your post reminded me of that line in anchorman: "it's called sex panther. it's illegal in nine countries. sixty percent of the time, it works - every time."
anyway, i LOVE tofu. never mind the "evils" of soy; i will never give it up completely. i probably eat it on average once a week.
and cooked grains get me all hot and bothered. there's nothing for me like a pile of rice with a little soy sauce.

Indian food - I had been 100% raw for 3 weeks but decided conciaously to have an indian takeaway this friday night. I could be happy with that. I was happy about that but cross with the 100g milk chocolate reindeer I then ate (left over from Christmas)

Ah! Here's a big cheat that I had last night.

I've been 100% Raw pescetarian for the whole of February. And 100% pescetarian for the past four months.

I think though, that the combination of onions and green onions got to me though. I indulged in a few tacos (carnitas) at a local place. It wasn't so much that it was the meat that I craved, but the spice of the onions.

That said, I'll probably just be eating onions and onions as much as I can stand. :0

Ahh I share the raw pescetarian thing too. I had salmon tartar in South Africa last week. I indulge in sashimi every few weeks and when I go to Japan, it's all I eat!
