Give it to me Raw

I will be honest with you and tell you that I indulge into whatever I feel like about 1 "meal" a week out of 21 meals.

I'm not perfect, but I would like to know what your take on this is. The whole point of it is to stay raw as a lifestyle, eating something different once in a while always reminds me of how bad I feel when I eat cooked foods, and keeps me on the right track.
I understand that we all have different reasons to go raw, but are we all 100% flawless, if you are , good for you, But I wanna hear about the ones who are humans :) and what it is that you indulge in... Go wild I won't tell anyone.
1 rule, it can't be raw hihihiheheheheheh (evil laugh)

Great title and post.

I am 40%-100% raw vegan 100% of the time, for the past two years or so. I eat whatever I feel like. The only thing I never feel like eating is animals. I must say that when I am 100% raw, or close to it, is when I feel the best.

Welcome to the world of the normal happy healthy Human being. Im sooooo glad you posted this.

Im a happy healthy 80% and LOVING IT. I grow stronger happier and more vibrant every single day. I eat cooked vegan food on at least 2-3 occasions a week and so far i havent ended up in hospital, contracted a flesh eating super bug, or have had my cardiovascular system shut down.

Any cooked food i eat is prepared and consumed with love and joy and counting my blessings on this Earth and for being able to experience this beautiful treat......now tell me that wont heal on every level.

Love and thanks

falafel and hummus are a major downfall for me plus thai green veggie curry! What I'm trying to do now is make sure I have a salad or green smoothie prior to and that seems to lessen the effects.

I think this is a great post too!

I have a thing for Hummus too! Just can't get with the raw variation..maybe just need to try making it again? Had a thing for Indian curries for ages which has diminished quite a bit but I do miss rice!?

I tried to make a raw hummus not that long ago. Two words, bloody, disaster! It was the most horrendous thing you've ever tasted :)
Yeah Indian curries are a biggie too which is why I live off the raw ones these days :)

i was 100% raw for a year and a half and for the past few months have added in some cooked foods and i must say i feel wayyy better.
i could see myself going back to almost 100% in the summer, but there are a few things i dont think ill swear off again:

beans, legumes, hummus
ancient grains (it was phenomenal to have rice & wild rice again...)
and my ultimate fav:
YAMS. mmmm, deliciously baked yams.

i feel so much more grounded and balanced now.

and-- dare i say it? a LOT less gassy. hahah!

See...things like this bring up the "how raw should I be?" question! I've been trying to steer clear of rice and baked sweet potatoes etc in order to feel better!?

well, give it a try, every body is different and maybe you WILL feel better without them. eating things like this stops me from eating too much fat in order to fill up, which i was doing because i find sugars hard to deal with. i was raw for a year and a half and it did WONDERS for me, helped me cleanse a lot, i got out all the old medicines and antibiotics i used to take, etc, but there reached a point where i felt like i had stopped cleansing and progessing and i was just feeling depleted.. i dont know, maybe i was doing raw "wrong" and im sure a lot of people would tell me that, but this is my own journey and im happy to just go on my own intuition, and not worry much what other people think :)

It's actually surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it. No machete required. Shave off the husk at the pointed top close to the shell. Then poke the point of a knife in about 2 or 3 cm out from the centre and wiggle it about until it pierces ...
