Please, if you want to know my full story... add me as a friend and read my blog.
I don't want to bog anyone down w/ a whole long story that they might not care too much about.
That said, my question is, does going raw affect ones sex drive (either enhance or decrease)?
Just want to know everyone's thoughts and experiences on this. I don't mean to be too graphic, but I'm just curious.

Anything that affects energy levels positively is going to affect your sex life. Inasfar as drive - you really need to find ways to produce more testosterone.
The best ways to increase sex drive is to increase your testosterone levels. How do you do this?
1) Increase your Omega 3 fatty acid, and cholesterol intake. These are the building blocks for testosterone. Excellent sources of these are nuts, avocados and raw milk. The other thing is beef, but that's because they inject our beef cows with testosterone. We don't eat a lot of that though, so just give up on the beef and focus on the other items.
2) Avoid estrogen foods, like soy and anything high in saturated fats. Also, complex carbohydrates and starches from all that stuff we're probably not eating anyway - potatoes, breads and pasta. The other thing is conventionally grown chicken - they feed it a diet of estrogen or foods that help them produce estrogen so that they will be bigger. Basically we're in the clear for the mostpart. Us raw foodies aren't eating many of those items, other than soy (I hate soy and avoid it, with the exception of soy sauce), so we're in the clear.
3) Start working out. Nothing intense, but there should be balance of cardiovascular (you want to have stamina, right) and weight training.
4) Avoid hormone treatments (particularly testosterone) if you can. Women going through menopause should be particularly careful to balance their sex drive diet (everything here) with their menopause diet (all the stuff on the estrogen list) and not take their health for granted, ignoring the production of estrogen for a higher sex drive. Estrogen is important for the balance of a woman's body chemistry and not enough can lead to osteoporosis and other ailments.
5) Start having sex. Every time you have sex, the male produces some testosterone and some of it gets deposited in the female (increasing her sex drive a little). The important part here is "some of it" - not all of it goes to the female, so you have a higher testosterone level, thus a higher sex drive.
Note: too high of testosterone levels can also cause physical and psychological issues. Don't assume that your hormone levels are perfect just because you are on a raw diet, if you are having personality changes, consider what you're putting into your body and what changes they are having on you.
Those are the things that I was able to discover in 15 minutes of research, combined with what I already knew :)
When I did massive amounts of greens and fruit with very little fat, my sex drive completely went away. I was in total monk-mode...completely separated from the "animal" desires. Add in some superfoods and some nuts and seeds and the drive comes back...but its nothing like a horny meat/junk food-eater...a little more evolved I would say. It becomes more about forming friendships with the opposite sex, not always trying to "score". Anyone experience something like this?

As a middle-aged man (37 years old), that has been an issue. Stress and low self-esteem completely destroyed my sex drive and made it actually difficult to 'get there' (minor levels of impotence) for the better part of a year. Eating foods that help my body make testosterone and working out regularly are definitely things that are high on my list - I'm married and sex is important to both my wife and I, without a sex drive, my marriage (and happiness) would eventually be in jeopardy.
Inasfar as whether it's evolved or not? I don't know, having known many people who are gender dysphoric and going through sex reassignment, I think of lower sex drive as being more female, not more evolved. Sex drive is dependent upon testosterone (even in women), so I guess men are less likely to be 'evolved' than women by the determinator of how relationships are developed, by the strange misfortune of one chromosome having been Y instead of an X.

I trimmed some items out of the list that are on the bad foods list or just basically not good for anyone's diet (non-fermented soy products). Fortunately for you, a lot of the foods are on both lists :)
You totally forgot to mention RAW cacao--one of the highest in all the goodies and maca, and incan root that will definately get your heat up! Check out shazzie.com-- some herbals have very potent sexual properties. i don't think testosterone is the answer, but i know what yohimbe and horny goat weed can do!!

I'm just trying to address those things that will give your body what it needs most to produce testosterone (HDL cholesterol and Omega 3 fatty acids). They do mention "Dark chocolate" on the HDL cholesterol list, which I usually read dark chocolate to mean "Raw chocolate" (or I do since I read shazzie's book about raw chocolate). :) As for Maca and Incan Root I have no idea about their effects on the body's chemistry - I'm trying to be very conservative in my advice :)
I agree about the superfoods and nuts. My sex drive goes up with a little maca, some goji berries and raw cacao. My hubby can always tell when I consume those.
Hi Dorien,
I am starting a juice/smootie/raw fruit and veggie fast tomorrow. How long are you doing it for? How many times have you fasted in the past? I am going into it exhausted as well, and in desperate need of some clean living! I wish you gre…
